Trail Walks

Trail walking can be beneficial to a dog's health; physically, mentally and emotionally. Just by sniffing, the seeking system part of their brain, is activated! There is always so much to seek on a trail! Trail walking is rejuvenating and invigorating! It reduces boredom that can lead to destructive behaviors. These walks are terrific for high energy dogs! So that when they return home, they will be calm and tired. It's a win-win!

  • Monday - Friday Availability

  • By Appointment Only

  • Weather Permitting

  • Free Meet and Greet

Pick up times will change with the seasons: 

  • Spring     11am - 2pm

  • Summer  9am - 1 pm

  • Autumn   11am - 2pm

  • Winter     11am - 2pm​

Rates:

  • One dog, one walker  $50

  • Two dogs, two walkers $90

  • No more than 2 dogs per walk

  • Payment is always due at upon arrival

Trail Locations: 

  • Pyramid Mountain 

  • Tourne Park 

  • The Boulevard path 

  • Turkey Mountain/Valhalla Glen

  • RVA Fields path

  • 1-hour on the trail

  • Travel time to and from the trail does not get included in the one hour (arrive 12pm, return 1:30/1:45pm)

Service Area:

  • Montville

  • Towaco

  • Parts of Pinebrook

Vaccines Required:

  • Rabies must be up to date

Leash Behavior:​

  • Well behaved on leash

  • No excessive pulling

  • No aggression

  • Physically able to withstand walking 1hr on uneven territory

Cancellations:

  • $20 fee if the walk is canceled the day of the scheduled pick up, unless inclement weather prohibits the trail walk or dog(s) are sick

 

Vigilance and Risk and Management:

  • Wear a harness and collar with ID tags

  • No retractable leashes

  • Avoid drinking from puddles

  • Dry off and wipe paws

  • Seek and remove ticks

  • Offer water during and after trail walk

ABOUT THE WALKERS:

Aubrey Scala (owner, pet sitter, dog walker) and Shelly Moore (avid hiker, dog walker, pet sitter, clinical Herbalist, and Jin Shin Jyustu Practitioner) will be the only team members that handle dogs for this featured service. Both Aubrey and Shelly are able to assess and gain control over sticky situation’s that might arise on a trail. Both walkers are certified in emergency first aid and CPR.
